In June 2018, the FILAF book fair had a new look and format to offer a "happy community around publishing". The programming of Independent Pages is thus divided into three complementary axes: a group show, artistic invitations and partner corners. In parallel, a series of events and exchanges activated this device by integrating with the festival's programming.

The group show offered a selection of books and editions with a particular focus on artistic approaches to writing and collaborative or collective methods. To open the field of possibilities, a call for applications has been launched in this direction to involve different publishers, artists and professionals.

Regarding the invitations, Laura Morsch-Kihn and Antoine Lefebvre presented their project Copie Machine, Zone de Reprographie Temporaire, whose device is intended to produce, interrogate and put into circulation documents.

Winner of the Prize FILAF / Galeristes 2017 for the best art book published by a gallery (Eric Mouchet), Cyril Zarcone was rewarded for his collaborative spirit and his networking. The artist intervened in resonance in space by presenting a new sculpture.

Regarding the partners, the Jeu de Paume's bookstore presented the collection of books of the Satellite program which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, with a focus on the latest edition of this program entrusted each year to a curator exhibition around Novlang.

Committed to its history and recognized for its know-how as an art printer, the Manufacture des Deux Ponts proposed a workshop for the personalization of notebooks using a craft machine.

The Torcatis bookshop offered a selection of books related to the official selection of the festival, and FILAF bookstore relayed the vitality of the publishing world.

At the heart of this Perpignan institution, a former art deco shop whose historical rumors speak of an intense past, it was easy to imagine a passionate discussion in this ocher-colored space inspiring decorative moldings.

Romain Semeteys is the Artistic Director of this first edition of Independent Pages.

Thérèse, a work by Mathieu Roquigny, was presented during this first edition of Independent Pages.

Mathieu Roquigny seeks in this work to link game, chance and spontaneity.

By re-appropriating the childish vandal acts in the school toilets, he throws toilet paper balls soaked with water and ink to fill a defined surface.

Crushed on this surface, the paper balls turn this piece into a totally abstract form. As it dries, the color freezes in a random gradient that leaves the recognition and the nature of the material impossible.

From this brutal act is born a fragile and delicate composition.
